Homemade Açaí Bowl

Ever crave Uba Tuba? (shout out to the 818). Well this is a way to make those yummy açaí bowls at home… and its cheaper!

What you’ll need:

  • 1 Sambazon açaí pack (i liked the sweetened ones)
  • 1 banana
  • 4 frozen strawberries
  • 1/4 cup almond milk (or any non-dairy milk)
  • Handful of granola
  • Handful of chia seeds
  • Honey

Why its good for you:

Acai Berries are low in sugar, but contain excellent amounts of iron, calcium, fiber, and vitamin A. How they help  you:

  • Enhances athletic performance:
  •  Boosts heart health:
  • Packed with protein
  • Contains anti-ageing properties

Chia Seeds are high in micronutrients, dietary fiber, manganese, vitamin B1, and the essential omega-3 fatty acid. How they help you:

  • Help prevent cardiovascular disease
  • Improve blood sugar

  • Loaded with antioxidants

These açaí packs can pretty much be found at any supermarket in packs of 4, so don’t worry about not getting your hands on them.IMG_0553

In to the blender you’ll want to add 1 açaí pack, breaking it up as you put it in the blender (run it under warm water for 5 seconds before opening), 1/2 the banana, frozen strawberries and half of the almond milk. If it seems to thick for you, slowly add more of the milk Make sure not to add too much liquid because then it turns in to a smoothie!IMG_0554

Blend it all up and you’re pretty much done!IMG_0556

Lastly, I like to top mine off with the rest of the banana, chia seeds, granola, and a little drizzle of honey. Whats so awesome about this recipe is that you can really experiment and make it however you like! I hope you find your perfect açaí bowl and enjoy! (Don’t forget to make them look Pinterest worthy!)IMG_0557IMG_0678(Almonds, Raspberries, Mint and Chia Seed toppings)
