Let Me Upgrade You(r ramen)

Like any college student, I have instant ramen in my house. When I went to grab it for lunch the other day I realized I needed something more substantial so automatically, my mind went to Beyonce…

And upgrade my ramen is exactly what I did! So if you feel like stepping up your meal from poor college kid to livin’ rich college kid, follow the recipe below

What you’ll need:

  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 packet of ramen and seasoning
  • Half a tablespoon of canola or vegetable oil
  • 5-6 shrimp
  • Small handful of greenbeans
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • A few dashes of paprika or chili powder
  • A few slices of serrano or jalapeño
  • A squeeze of lemon

First, put your two cups of water over medium heat

While thats warming up prep your shrimp, garlic, and green beans. The shrimp should be peeled, pat dry, and sprinkled with paprika. Mince the garlic and cut the green beans in to thirds.

In a small pan, warm up your oil over medium heat. Once it’s warm, add the shrimp. IMG_4879.JPGWhen the shrimp is pink on the bottom side, flip it over, add the garlic, and add a splash of lemon. Continue cooking until its completely pink. When it’s done, take it off the heat.IMG_4882.JPG

When your water comes to a boil, add your noodles. I like to immediately start moving them around with chopsticks. Make sure not to forcefully break them up, but move it around enough where it starts separating on its own.IMG_4885.JPG Do this for 2 minutes then add your green beans. IMG_4886.JPGCook for one more minute then remove from the heat. At this point add your seasoning packet, paprika and chili flakes, shrimp with garlic, and a few splashes of lime. Lastly, plate it up (bowl it up??) add some chilies on top and enjoy! IMG_4888.JPG

It’s so yummy, even Beyonce approves. beyoncegrammysok
